Bolwell Nagari sports car to debut at Melbourne Show

Australian sports car company Bolwell is prepping a successor to the original Nagari sports car from the early 1970s. The new model, which also goes by the name Nagari, will be on show at the upcoming Melbourne Motor Show and will eventually enter production in a limited run early next year.

This official image reveals a sleek, low-slung sports car with a spacious cabin and classic mid-engined sports car styling. The new design also pays homage to the original Nagari of the 1970s, particularly in the rising waistline and the tunnel-back rear window.

Bolwell hasn’t released details about the car’s powertrain but in a previous statement, company founder Campbell Bolwell admitted he had a desire to construct a V8 sports car and the new Nagari serves as the perfect platform to realize that dream. Earlier reports claimed the car would feature a full carbon fiber body and forced-induction Toyota V6 engine but we’ll have to wait until the Melbourne show to get full details.
